Twice a year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathers together for General Conference to listen to the words of our living Prophet, Apostles, and other leaders of the church. This weekend I have loved finding quotes people have created to remember the words that were shared.
Hearing the words of a living Prophet, Apostles and other leaders of the church gives me so much strength to carry on. Today, as Scott and I went to visit Emma’s grave, we enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and talked about what our future could be and wondered about the children yet to come into our family. We know that we will have children here on earth with us one day, but right now, it’s hard because we don’t.
The questions we have about everything that happened are still there. Why did Emma have to leave us so early? What would life be like now if we were getting ready for Emma to come in two weeks? How will this upcoming IVF cycle go? Will the first transfer be successful this time? Will the doctors be able to monitor me well enough so I can carry the baby long enough? I could go on and on.
There comes a time though, when we have to stop. Nothing can change the past. The way to move forward is to put our trust in the Lord and know that His plan is even greater than our own. We don’t know what our future holds, but we are anxious to see where life takes us. As we move forward the words of strength and encouragement from others help us in ways we will forever be grateful for. I know that in the coming days, weeks, and months I will turn to the talks given this General Conference Weekend and find strength to carry on from the messages shared.
