Living Simply

January 5, 2018

Simplicity is something I am striving to become better with this year.  Yes, it’s a New Year’s Resolution, and it is something I am so excited to be working on.  I already feel so accomplished with what I’ve been doing the first four days of January.

To work on this goal, I started planning what I would do before 2017 even ended…that’s how serious I am about this! Here are a three things that are helping me to Live Simply:

Simplified Life Planner

Create a schedule.  Simple as that.  I love Emily Ley’s Simplified Life Planner – it’s user friendly, organized, helpful in ways I didn’t imagine, and cute!

I use the Daily Planner, which breaks down into hours of the day, has a to-do list, space for meal notes, basic notes, and on Sunday it has a space for Weekly Prep.  Seriously though, it’s such a wonderful planner that will quickly and easily organize your life.

A Simplified Life Book

If you are looking for a book that will take you step-by-step through simplifying your life, this is it! A Simplified Life is not only a book, but it’s also a workbook that you get to work through as you simplify.  It has opened my eyes to new ways that I can simplify my life and routines.  The basic and simple questions that are asked in this book help me know what I can get rid of and what to take out of my routine to have a more productive day.  Who doesn’t want that?!

30 Days to Simplify

We must have great minds, because Danielle at Todays the Best Day was thinking simplify just like me.  This year Danielle will have a new challenge word each month – and for January, the word is simplify.  She has daily challenges in a calendar she created called, “30 Days to Simplicity” and it’s amazing! The calendar is there and she even went out of her way and gives a daily description of how to best meet that day’s challenge.  I love how Danielle put it when she said, “Here’s to taking control of our lives and finding JOY in the now!”

Simplify your life.  Enjoy the time of simplifying, because you get to better learn who you are and what you want in your life.  It hasn’t even been a full week, but I am already being so blessed by simplifying my life and routine.  Give it a try, I promise it will only help you…even if you only do it for a few days.

So, go ahead, find how you can start living simply.
